Abstract

This collection contains various blueprints and/or architectural drawings for buildings in Augusta.  Some document landmark buildings and some document housing primarily in the Summerville and West Augusta sections of Augusta GA.

This collection is comprised of photographs of historic buildings in Augusta, Georgia. Buildings pictured include: the Ezekiel Harris house, the home of Nicholas Ware, and the original Academy of Richmond County building.

This collection is comprised of the records of King Mill in Augusta, Georgia. The materials include a record book of meeting minutes, as well as photographs of the mill and the John P. King Company baseball team, as well as floor plans of King Mill.

Scope and Contents This collection consists of 1800 19th and 20th century photographs depicting a range of subjects, which include: buildings and scenes of Augusta, Georgia, images of the American Civil War, individuals, and local events. Scope and Contents

This collection is comprised of two folders of miscellaneous postcards of the Augusta area. The majority of the postcards are undated, but seem to date from the 19th-20th centuries. The postcards depict buidlings in the Augusta, Georgia area, and churches, and were produced by a variety of publishers. The first folder of postcards were added by Kara Flynn in December 2018. More postcards were added in October, 2019 (Acc# 2019.50).

This collection is comprised of a single map tube containing the floor plans for Reese Library, as well as three 8.5x11 floor plans, one for each floor of the library.

This collection is comprised of the architectual plans for the Sunset Homes housing project in Augusta, Georgia, later called Cherry Tree Crossing. The collection includes an artist's rendering of the community, blueprints dating to 1939 and 1950, as well as documentation and a report gathered by the Augusta Housing Authority before the housing project was demolished in 2014.

Scope and Contents

This collection is comprised of two items: a copy of the floorpan for the building,drawn by F.C.W., and another copy of the architectual plans for the building, titled "The Present Summerville School." Both items are done in pencil, on tracing paper. The William Robinson School, originally called the Summerville School, was designed in 1925 by Willis Irvin, and completed in 1927. Today, the school building has been converted into condominiums.
